Sail America is committed to providing members with on going education programs to support the development and growth of business success.

  • Waypoints – A quarterly educational newsletter that reports on topics relevant to sailing businesses. Each issue includes business tips, best practices, leadership profiles, and a headline article from experts outside the marine industry.

  • Strategies For Success – Sail America will once again run these highly informative seminars that are designed to help members develop their business and selling skills. Previous keynote speakers have included marketing specialist, Jeff Tobe and celebrity motivational speaker, Brian Tracy.

  • Sailing Industry Conference: Sail America will run the inaugural Annual Sailing Industry Conference in the spring or summer of 2008 (date and venue to be confirmed). The conference will feature panel discussions, keynote speakers, workshops, and the Sailing Industry Regatta. Members will receive discounted rates to the conference.

  • Forums and Networking Events: Members will have access to online and face-to-face sailing industry forums and networking events.

  • PR University (available in Sept. 2007): This online guide shows how companies can communicate effectively with consumer and industry trade media. Learn how to address proactive and reactive PR needs, including tips for drafting press materials, selecting spokespeople, contacting reporters, and addressing issues in the media.

  • Issues Management (available in Sept. 2007): This online guide educates members on the issues facing the boating industry and outlines talking points and techniques on ways to address inquiries from the media.

  • HR University (available in Sept. 2007): All members receive this nationally acclaimed, award-winning, online human resource guide and employment reference library, which is loaded with information, template forms, statistics, and tools to assist with Human Resource needs. A $500 value, Sail America members receive HR University for free.

  • Business Innovation Award: New for 2007/8, Sail America will present the “Business Innovation Award” to member companies and individuals that have demonstrated exceptional leadership and business innovation.
