Discover Boating Launches New Site Design with Stronger Sailing Presence
The newly revamped and updated www.DiscoverBoating.com has just been launched this month and features a much stronger presence for sailing destined to generate more future sailing prospects.
The new site uses vivid imagery to illustrate the various activities people can enjoy aboard a boat, such as sailing, fishing, powerboat cruising or watersports. During each website visit, images of each activity are randomly rotated, giving readers the opportunity to select their favorite activity by clicking on round icons on the opening home page. Each activity has a dedicated landing page/mini website with relevant information, such as boat type selections, tips and resources.
The website features strong calls to action for visitors to click on the boat selector tool and order the free “Get Started in Boating” DVD and “Discover Sailing” DVD.
A new “Baby Boomer” section positions boating as the ideal activity to enrich a person’s
“Golden Years,” with a page encouraging visitors to “Get your Second Wind,” and give sailing a try.
While on the site, be sure to check out the new Spousal Conversion Kit, promoted recently during a successful radio tour by Baseball Hall of Famer and boater Mike Schmidt of the Philadelphia Phillies.
Taking a fun, humorous approach, the Spousal Conversion Kit provides a seven-step tool to help website visitors convince their significant others that now is the time to purchase a boat. First time and experienced boaters highlight the many benefits of spending quality family time boating and the great freedom to explore the outdoors on your own terms.
To debunk the popular misconception that boating is too expensive for the average family, the NEW Boating Affordability Tool/Budget planner compares the cost of boat ownership to several other popular family leisure activities, including taking Disney vacations, attending pro sporting events, going camping or RVing and enjoying a night out at the movies. Indeed the Budget Planner demonstrates that owning a boat is, indeed, within the reach of most average American families, especially when pitted against other activities on which families already spend their money.
Updates will continue to be made to the content and images on the site so you will see some additional changes/improvements. Sail America members are encouraged to submit content and imagery for inclusion on DiscoverBoating.com. Please send to Jonathan Banks at jbanks@sailamerica.com.
