John Burnham, former editor-in-chief of Sailing World and Cruising World magazines, has been appointed editorial director of YachtWorld.com and Boats.com, both leading websites owned by Dominion Enterprises. He spent 25 years with the magazines prior to accepting this position.
Mark Pillsbury was appointed editor-in-chief of Cruising World after coming aboard in 2005 as senior editor. Elaine Lembo, who has been with the title since 1998, moves to deputy editor, while veteran Sue Fennessy, with the magazine since 2004, was named managing editor.
Wanda Kenton Smith shut down her full-service agency of 13 ˝ years to open a solo marketing consultancy, utilizing a virtual agency approach that taps outside contractors on an as-need basis. Gary Jobson to be Nominated as Next President of US SAILING
US SAILING plans to nominate Gary Jobson as the organization's next president. The position of president will be elected by the board of directors at US SAILING's Annual General Meeting in Houston on October 25, 2009.
Jobson, 58, has been a strong supporter of US SAILING and is currently a member of the board of directors. He also has served on the Olympic Sailing Committee for 12 years. A world class sailor, television commentator, and author of 16 sailing books, Jobson is a true ambassador to the sport.
"US SAILING is a vital component of our sport," said Jobson. "At this time in my life, I look forward to serving the sport that has been so good to me for so many years."

Hanse Yachts US announced transition plans for the day-to-day operations from Donald F. Walsh to Alexander Harrison. Walsh, who has spent 44 years in the sailing business and nearly 14 years building dealership networks in North America, will remain in a modified and supporting role to handle the financial affairs and some office duties. Harrison has been with Hanse Yachts US for 1 ˝ years.
In addition, a new office has been leased at Yacht Haven in Annapolis that will open on April 1, 2009.
