St. Petersburg Show Dates and Changes Announced

The St. Petersburg Boat Show & Strictly Sail has changed its name and has modified its layout, and promises to be bigger and better than ever!

The new St. Petersburg Power & Sailboat Show is set to cruise into the Progress Energy Center for the Arts Mahaffey Theatre Yacht Basin and Albert Whitted Park in St. Petersburg, FL December 3 – 6, 2009.

Show Management’s Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Dane Graziano recently announced changes to the show which was formed last year when Sail America combined its Strictly Sail St. Pete show with Show Management’s St. Petersburg Boat Show.

According to Graziano, the name of the show was changed to the St. Petersburg Power & Sailboat Show for marketing simplicity and to create a stronger branding identity. The layout of the show has been modified to better concentrate space to benefit both show-goers and exhibitors alike.

Buoyed by the addition of sailboats, the 2008 St. Petersburg Boat Show & Strictly Sail enjoyed a 30% boost in attendance. Building on last year’s success, Graziano reports that the show will again feature “the very best of both the boating and sailing worlds—offering the largest, most varied selection of sailboats and power boats, as well as gear and accessories – on Florida’s west coast.” Also on tap again is a full slate of informative seminars for both sailors and powerboaters, featuring top experts in a variety of fields to share the latest and greatest in marine oriented topics. What’s more, despite the economic downturn facing the industry, Graziano reports the show will be cranking on all gears, and exhibitors can expect plenty of horsepower in boat show marketing, advertising and public relations.

“The new joint show has been an outstanding success, generating record-breaking attendance as well as quality buyers for sail, power and booth exhibitors,” said Graziano. “We made new additions and changes to provide a unique, compelling show experience for both our guests and exhibitors. This wonderful show is destined to grow larger and even more successful in 2009.”

Sail America Executive Director Jonathan Banks agrees.

“We are really pleased with the results of the combined show and the positive feedback we received from visitors and exhibitors in 2008,” said Banks. “The new show format attracted more quality sailboat buyers than we’ve seen at previous shows.”

Space contracts have been distributed by Show Management. For further information or questions, contact Chuck Bolt at 800-940-7642 Ext. 215 or e-mail cbolt@showmanagement.com. For more show details, Click Here.
