GALA TOAST FOR CATALINA’S FRANK BUTLER PLANNED
Blue Water Sailing, Cruising World and Sail magazines are jointly hosting a very special toast on Friday, October 8 during the Annapolis Sailboat Show to honor and recognize long-time industry icon Frank Butler of Catalina Yachts. Butler, whose boatbuilding career spans nearly five decades, has built more than 75,000 vessels in his lifetime and continues to actively log hours on the job.
The gala party includes a festive celebration at the Loews Hotel with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres at 7 p.m., followed by dinner at 8 p.m. Entertainment includes speakers' quips on the legendary "man of the hour," with guests being given opportunities to speak and share a few words regarding their experiences with Butler. According to a recent press release, a few surprises are also in store.
More than half of the 300-seating capacity is already sold out. Individual tickets are $75 each, while several sponsorship packages are available. Items are currently being sought for a silent auction. All proceeds will be donated to the National Sailing Hall of Fame.
Those interested in supporting or participating in this gala event and fundraiser may contact Ron Frisosky at 941-914-3890, or Tom Casey at 941-921-7361.
Event contributions should be made payable to the National Sailing Hall of Fame and mailed to Ron Frisosky, Catalina Yachts, 1648 S. Lakeshore Dr., Sarasota, FL 34231. Tickets will be numbered and sent upon payment.
