David Graham

David is the managing director of LaserPerformance (formerly Performance Sailcraft Europe and Vanguard Sailboats). LaserPerformance is the steward of some of sailing’s most-recognized brands including Laser, Sunfish, 420, and the Laser SB3-Sailing World’s Boat of the year.

David has spent his entire career in sailing-related activities. He started out teaching sailing and joined the Laser Company in the UK in the mid-nineties, where he quickly worked his way up the organization through sales to senior management. He now runs LaserPerformance, the largest company in its industry sector, with worldwide sales of a range of sailing boats under 20 feet in length.

David project-managed the acquisition of Vanguard Sailboats in the U.S., which closed in April 2007. LaserPerformance has offices in Portsmouth, RI; Long Buckby, United Kingdom;  Melbourne, Australia; Paris, France; Hong Kong and the Middle East.

David moved to Portsmouth, RI, in 2007 and now divides his time between LaserPerformance’s offices in the U.S. and Europe. He is excited to be joining the Sail America Board and is committed to developing the sport of sailing.
