J/95, Leopard 38 Take Home Top Honors in Cruising World’s 2010 Boat of the Year” Awards
Cruising World magazine recently announced winners of its 17th annual Boat of the Year awards which were featured in the magazine’s January issue.
Top awards included the J/95 which took the “Domestic Boat of the Year” award and “Best Weekender,” while the Leopard 38 was named “Import Boat of the Year” and “Best Multihull Cruiser.”
“The judges were impressed with the J/95’s sailing performance, functional accommodations, and shoal-draft keel/centerboard,” said Cruising World Senior Editor Bill Springer. “At a time when many families are cruising waters closer to home, it’s the ideal weekender for nearby bays, and it’ll be up to longer coastal cruises when time permits.”
Added Springer, “The Leopard 38 is built to withstand the rigors of offshore passagemaking, and the accommodations plan is excellent.”
