SailLaser Miami Opens its Doors

SailLaser, the premier sailing and water sports center operated by LaserPerformance, has recently opened its first North American location in Miami, FL, at the site of the US Sailing Center.

"SailLaser is the only center in Miami that provides sailing programs in brand-new boats from the LaserPerformance line for all ages and then offers programs for these new sailors to continue in the sport without the need to own their own a boat." says David Himmel, category manager of SailLaser and a Miami native. “Our whole mission is predicated on providing a great on-the-water experience. We want to do our part to shift the paradigm away from sailing being a sport that is too complicated or expensive to participate in. That’s a great mission and I am really excited about the potential of SailLaser Miami and our future expansion plan.” 

Chip Wilkerson, vice president of Global Marketing for SailLaser, said, “Opening our new Miami location marks an important step in our strategy. We know that one of the big barriers to the sport is lack of access to water. SailLaser provides a venue that allows people to get on the water on new boats in a non-sales environment. It’s pretty simple, actually. Greater access equals more people enjoying and participating in the sport of sailing.”

The Miami Center will replicate many of the popular programs proven at its initial location at SailLaser Weymouth Center in England, including Summer Sailing Camps, adult and children’s Sailing Lessons, Community Sailing Programs, Racing Clinics and Programs, Corporate Programs and Special Events. At the new Miami Center, sailors will improve their skills on a wide range of LaserPerformance products including Lasers, Picos, Bahias, and LaserPerformance’s newest product, the Bug.
