Sailing World Strikes Gold for ‘08 Olympics

Sailing World has scored a major coup for next month’s Olympic Games in China. The magazine been selected by US SAILNG, the governing body of the sport of sailing in the U.S., to publish the official media guide for the U.S. Sailing Team.

The guide, produced by SW’s editorial team led by editor Dave Reed and senior editor Stuart Streuli, will give an inside look at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Sailing teams. Olympic sailing has received heavy media attention lately as China cleans up the green algae bloom affecting the sailing venue. For the thousands of journalists attending the sailing portion of the games in China, Sailing World will be the number one source of information.

Sailing World has always been committed to giving Olympic sailing the quality coverage it deserves, and this publication is far better than any media guide ever created for the team,” says Reed. “It has everything the world’s top sports journalists need to know to report on the U.S. Sailing Team athletes, the venue and what it takes to compete at the absolute highest level of the sport.”

The guide was also published in a special 30-page Olympic section in the July/August 2008 issue of the magazine. Streuli, who covered the Olympics in Sydney and Athens, will be on-site in Qingdao, China, to provide readers and web viewers (at sailingworld.com) first-hand reports, podcasts, images and videos.
