Sail America hosted a special movie preview of the “Morning Light” film, produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Pacific High Productions, on April 17 at Strictly Sail Pacific. Executive Producers Roy E. Disney and Leslie DeMeuse-Disney introduced the film and answered questions at that preview. The film covers the selection of the crew, try-outs and training, and the actual race—when the young sailors, ranging in age from 18 to 23, race a 52-foot sloop in “a 2,500 mile journey that will change the course of their lives forever,” as the movie’s promotional poster notes.
