Strictly Sail Pacific to Return to Jack London Square in 2009
Strictly Sail Pacific will return to Oakland’s Jack London Square
from Wednesday, April 15 to Sunday, April 19, 2009. Strictly Sail Pacific
is the largest sail-only boat show on the West Coast, and is expected
to attract up to 15,000 sailing enthusiasts and over 200 exhibitors.
The floorplan for the 2009 show will be finalized
shortly and space contracts will be sent out
in December. The floorplan is expected to be
similar to last year but the ongoing construction
work at Jack London Square may result in some
slight modifications.
“Exhibitors and attendees really liked
the layout for the 2008 show,” said Kevin
Murphy, Strictly Sail Pacific show manager. “The
outside tents created a festival atmosphere
and attendees liked the proximity of the exhibit
space to the local restaurants and shops. Our
goal for 2009 is to create more tented areas
to provide greater protection in the event
of inclement weather.”
The 2009 Strictly Sail Pacific show will be
supported by a multi-faceted media and promotional
campaign to include radio advertising, national
and local magazine advertising, a public relations
campaign, direct mail, and comprehensive Internet
and email marketing. A marketing toolbox, including
discounted tickets, posters, postcards, e-blasts
and website links, will be created to help
exhibitors promote the show to their customers.
A committee meeting is planned for early December.
