SAIL AMERICA SEEKS NEW ASSOCIATION MANAGER
Sail America (sailamerica.com) recently announced the selection of Lighthouse Consulting Group, based in Warren, RI, as its new full-service association management company (lighthousecg.com). As part of this transition, Sail America is working with Lighthouse to hire an Association Manager who will have the day-to-day responsibility for the organization and will become the face and voice of Sail America. The Association Manager, along with Sail America's new, expanded team, will continue to foster its many successful membership and marketing programs, produce the Strictly Sail Pacific show, forge strong partnerships with other show producers to promote sailing and sailing lifestyle events, strengthen and grow its member businesses and evolve the Discover Sailing brand and programs.
The Association Manager for Sail America has leadership authority and will act as the public face and voice of the organization, provide day-to-day management and coordinate staff and resources to ensure annual work plans meet strategic targets, and perform the traditional responsibilities necessary to ensure the successful operations of the Association. Three major objectives for the Association as defined by the Board of Directors are: 1) Promote the sailing lifestyle; 2) Strengthen member businesses; and 3) Sustain and grow the membership.
Qualifications and Experiences Required
- Five years' related business experience, preferably in the U.S. sailing industry.
- Relevant BA/BS degree required; Masters in business, marketing, or communication preferred.
- Must be able to work in Lighthouse's Rhode Island office.
- Ability to travel, in some cases up to one week at a time.
- Sailing experiences a plus.
Compensation will be commensurate with candidate's background, experience and qualifications.
