R&W Rope has added Chuck Gilchrest to its team of marine professionals in the role of recreational marine products manager and business development. Gilchrest will be responsible for wholesale and commercial accounts within R&W's marine cordage and rigging division along with oversight of marketing and brand awareness initiatives. R&W recently augmented its product and service offerings to include a fully stocked marine rigging department to supplement its wide variety of cordage for modern and traditional marine applications.
Prior to joining R&W, Gilchrest held positions of Product Manager and Trade Show Coordinator before assuming the role of North American Marine Sales Manager for Edson International. He previously worked in technical sales and product development in the motorsports industry. "We're thrilled to bring Chuck onboard as we continue to grow on local, regional and national fronts," says Rod McCollester, President of R&W Rope. "R&W has become more than just a rope distributor and we'll rely on Chuck to help take our marine business to the next level."
A lifelong sailor, Chuck attended Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, PA and lives in South Dartmouth, MA with his wife and two children.

Chris Allen named Publisher of SAIL Magazine
Active Interest Media, Inc. (AIM, www.aimmedia.com) today announced that Chris Allen has been named Publisher of SAIL Magazine.
Allen brings decades of marine industry and publishing experience to his new role. Allen spent most of his career at Time Inc, including 20 years at Cooking Light, where, as Senior Vice President and Publisher he led the company in 17 consecutive years of growth. He started his career in various sales roles at Yachting Magazine, and as National Advertising Manager for Cruising World Magazine.
"My career really began, as any true sailor's should, on my family's sunfish, and then as a wharf rat teaching sailing and working at marinas and sailing clubs throughout high school and college," says Allen. "To join SAIL as publisher is a wonderful opportunity to combine my publishing career with my love of sailing."
