Exhibitors Urged to Move Quickly to Reserve Space at Newly Merged St. Petersburg Boat Show and Strictly Sail™ Show

The newly formed St. Petersburg Boat Show and Strictly Sail™ is proving to be popular with exhibitors, who are quickly signing up for the December show that will be the largest on Florida’s Gulf Coast— and one of the top shows in the Southeast.

Boater’s World is presenting The St. Petersburg Boat Show and Strictly Sail™ sponsored by Mercedes Benz and co-sponsored by Marina Pez Vela on Dec. 4-7 at the Progress Energy Center for the Arts Mahaffey Theater Yacht Basin and Albert Whitted Park. The show will feature significantly bigger waterfront and land displays, along with several exciting new show enhancements, including 50 new floating docks for sailboats, an additional on-land sailboat display and expanded, air-conditioned tents for accessories and Sail America’s seminar programs.

“While there is still space for the show, we really encourage you to move quickly, especially if you’re looking for the most desirable boat display locations on the water or on land,” said Sales Manager Chuck Bolt of Show Management. “Space sales for the Accessories Tent are also going extremely well, even better than expected, so I urge you to contact me today and reserve your space to become part of a wonderful show!” Prospective exhibitors should contact Bolt at cbolt@showmanagement.com.

Veteran show producers Show Management of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Sail America of Middletown, RI, announced in June the merger of two successful, long-standing boat shows into one all-new “super show” now called The St. Petersburg Boat Show & Strictly Sail. A lineup of premier sailing and boating manufacturers will display and debut a variety of boats, including cruisers, yachts, fishing boats, sailboats, sportsboats, runabouts and personal watercraft. About 25,000 boaters and sailors are expected to attend this four-day boating festival that is packed with family fun activities, parties and opportunities to enjoy a sail, climb aboard the latest boat models and check out the hottest new gear.

The new and expanded show venue adds 50 new sailboats to the customized floating docks, joining the current roster of 200+ powerboats. The Progress Energy Center’s Mahaffey Theater Yacht Basin also will host an additional new on-land sailboat display, plus debut an impressive new seminar program for sailors and power boaters. In three air-conditioned seminar tents, Sail America will organize an impressive seminar program, including renowned world cruisers, respected marine experts and intriguing boating authors sharing their adventure stories and providing info on navigation, safety, software, marine equipment and accessories.

The expanded Accessories Tent will house the new marine-related gear, equipment and service vendors; the tent will also be air conditioned - another show first. More than 200 exhibitors will showcase what’s new in marine gear, charter destinations, engines, electronics, nautical clothing and cutting-edge technology for mariners.

“We believe this new combined show provides tremendous value for our show patrons, featuring an outstanding variety of boats, gear and a wealth of exciting activities,” said Dane Graziano, Show Management senior vice president and chief operating officer. “Save the dates now for what promises to be a fantastic show for boaters and sailors of all ages!”

Show patrons will also delight in these special events:

  • Hook the Future - Kids will “Hook the Future” in free fishing clinics during Saturday and Sunday shows with giveaways of free fishing rods and reels as long as supplies last. Kids who take part in the weekend fishing clinics also will enjoy free show admission.
  • Discover Sailing - This national introduction-to-sailing program held throughout the four-day show by Sail America gives show attendees a chance to enjoy a 30-minute sail with an expert skipper on a beautiful sailing yacht, sponsored by Hunter Marine.
  • Latitudes and Attitudes presents the Ninth Annual St. Pete Cruisers' Party - This crowd-pleasing party is celebrated Saturday evening and is a popular, casual pizza-and-beer fest.
