SAILBOAT BROKERAGE SALES
REMAIN STEADY
According to a previous report co-distributed by Sail America and YachtWorld.com earlier this month, there were no real surprises this past August in U.S. sailboat brokerage sales, according to collective reports from broker members of YachtWorld.com. Sailboat brokerage sales held steady at 523 units, similar to the prior three months, and only 14% lower than the 605 boats sold the same month in 2008.
Additionally, over the warmer months of May to August, 500-550 sailboats have been reported sold each month, which, collectively, is 20% fewer than in the same months in 2008.
