JOHN PETERSON TAKES THE HELM OF HUNTER MARINE

Luhrs Marine Group COO Rick Cerami announced the appointment of John Peterson to president of Hunter Marine Corporation effective September 29. Peterson, a former president of Sail America and multi-year board member, has invested 17 years as Hunter, most recently as vice president of sales and marketing where he had responsibility for the global brand and its dealer network.

“John is a proven leader, one who listens, takes action, and has the foresight to guide Hunter in this challenging environment,” reported Cerami in a statement.

“His experience will be invaluable as we seek new solutions in our supply chain to maintain a quality, value-driven boat.”

Peterson is a graduate of Marquette University and holds an MBA with marketing certification from the University of Wisconsin.

“I feel a bit humbled to have the opportunity presented to lead Hunter Marine,” said Peterson. “I am extremely proud of the Hunter personnel in the sales and marketing area of our company … it goes without saying I would not have been afforded this opportunity without the results and dedication of my group. The marine environment is challenging -- now there is an understatement – and one that is going to take a positive attitude everyday, a yeoman’s effort on the part of all the employees of Hunter. I’m ready for this challenge to continue to grow the company, to continue to work with our dealer network, and now to motivate and point everyone in the same dedicated direction.”
