MEET YOUR NEW ASSOCIATION MANAGEMENT GROUP: LIGHTHOUSE CONSULTING GROUP!
Sail America recently announced the selection of Lighthouse Consulting Group as its new full-service association management company. Lighthouse has been working with Sail America on a project basis since early 2012 including the recent successful production of the Sailing Industry Conference, but now moves into a daily association management capacity.
"We are excited to partner with the Lighthouse team in this critical and expanded role," said Sail America President Josh Adams. "Lighthouse brings a wealth of experience and resources to our membership, in a strategic business model that works to directly strengthen our association, to serve sailing industry businesses, and to support our board of directors. We believe Lighthouse is uniquely qualified to help us meet today's challenges and achieve our vision to expand member services and deliver future growth for the sailing industry."
Lighthouse will assume responsibility for the management of Sail America and delivering all of the services, programs and products that the Sail America provides to its members and partners.
"Association management provides expanded capacity almost instantly by providing an expanded team made of seasoned experts in all aspects of association management," said Lighthouse President Mark Amaral. "We will help Sail America continue the great work that it is known for and provide the depth and breadth of knowledge necessary to expand member services as well as grow the sailing industry."
Added Sail America Executive Director Jonathan Banks, "I've had the benefit of working closely with the Lighthouse team over the past six months and am confident in its ability to manage Sail America and fulfill the board of director's vision." Banks has been assisting in the transition period.
Working with Sail America, Lighthouse will hire an Association Manager who will have the day-to-day responsibility for the organization and will become the face and voice of Sail America. The Association Manager, along with Sail America's new, expanded team, will continue to foster its many successful membership and marketing programs, produce the Strictly Sail Pacific show, forge strong partnerships with other show producers to promote sailing and sailing lifestyle events, strengthen and grow its member businesses and evolve the Discover Sailing brand and programs. The search for the Association Manager is expected to begin in the coming weeks.
Formed in 2001, Lighthouse Consulting Group was formed specifically to serve the marine industry in the United States and abroad. Besides its recent work for Sail America, it brings extensive association experience in working with boatyards, marinas, environmental education organizations, super yachts and public access. Lighthouse also provides event management and strategic facilitation services.
