2010 Strictly Sail Miami Boat Show Moving to Sea Isle Marina

2010 Strictly Sail Miami Boat Show Moving to Sea Isle Marina

Show Changes Landscape to Meet Industry Demand, Enhance Traffic

CHICAGO – September 15, 2009 – The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), North America’s leading boat and sportshow producer, and Sail America, the trade association for the U.S. sailing industry, announced today that Strictly Sail Miami is making a temporary move to Sea Isle Marina for 2010 to address exhibitor space needs and ensure Strictly Sail Miami is viable in the years ahead.

The show is moving from its traditional location, Miamarina at Bayside, a venue not fitting for the projected scope of the 2010 show, to Sea Isle Marina located just a half mile north on Biscayne Bay behind the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay. The show is co-locating with the in-water powerboat portion of the Miami International Boat Show, a traditionally heavy-traffic area of the five-day event.

“After examining the current landscape of the show and evaluating feedback from the sailing industry, Sea Isle was the logical alternative for the 2010 show,” noted Kevin Murphy, show manager of Strictly Sail Miami. “Located near the Miami Convention Center and home to the in-water portion of the Miami Boat Show, we anticipate the Sea Isle Marina location will attract a greater number of boat show attendees and, ultimately, more leads for Strictly Sail Miami exhibitors.”

Strictly Sail Miami 2010 will occupy Pier 5 at Sea Isle Marina, which holds up to 55 sailboats; 16th street, which will showcase all sail-related booths from accessories to travel (on the way into Pier 5); and the Trinity Episcopal Cathedral Church parking lot, which will hold Strictly Sail Miami’s seminars, special events and features (adjacent to 16th street).

“Every effort is being made to create a successful selling event for exhibitors and an appealing atmosphere for Strictly Sail Miami attendees. The show will continue to showcase the best the sailing industry has to offer with live music, parties and more for the sailing community,” said Jonathan Banks, executive director of Sail America.

The 25th annual Strictly Sail Miami boat show is scheduled to take place February 11-15, 2010. Additional information about the show, including features, floor plan layout, and show hours will be announced in the coming weeks. Visit StrictlySailMiami.com for more information.
